Mural by Nicolas Party

In the Picture Gallery, Nicolas Party has created a large-scale mural responding to one of the works in our collection: A Brawl between Peasants by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp (1612–1652). Party became interested in the work following extensive research into the Holburne’s collection after visiting in 2023. Born in Switzerland in 1980, he is well-known for his soft pastel works, site-specific murals and immersive installations, influenced by his early work as a graffiti artist.
