‘Glowing Canopies’ acquired for the Holburne Collection

We are delighted that, thanks to the generous support of Art Fund and the Arts Council England / V&A Purchase Grant Fund, a neon artwork by Chila Kumari Singh Burman (b.1957) has been acquired for the Holburne Collection.

‘The Glowing Canopies’ was first installed in 2024 to coincide with the exhibition Neon Dreams: Chila Kumari Singh Burman.

The artist’s largest individual neon work to date presents delicate creations in the shape of trees and bees, depicting a joyful explosion of vibrant colours, which will continue to light up the museum facade through the winter months.
