Holburne Up Late: Mindful May

Relax and unwind with us as we ‘go slow’. An evening of inspiring creativity and therapeutic treats including a clothed life drawing session in the galleries, Yoga, Tai Chi and a chance to explore natural plant scents to blend a personalised botanic scent to take home.

Something for all the senses …

FREE entry to the collection galleries with reduced entry fee into the exhibition

Throughout the evening POLYMATHIC will be activating the cafe space with a DJ and live immersive visuals and lighting, exploring how immersive technology – so often used to heighten and energise – can instead be used to create a space to unwind. Drop in, settle into the music, and let the visuals wash over you as you relax, breathe, and be present.

TAI CHI
6pm on the Front Lawn of the Holburne (Ballroom gallery if raining)

T’ai Chi Stillness. T’ai Chi Movement.
An invitation to slow down, move gently, and explore.
This one-off session offers a playful and relaxed experience of T’ai Chi and Qigong, blending moments of stillness with soft, flowing movement. Through simple guided practices, participants will have the opportunity to open and stretch the body, release tension, and experience a natural sense of ease and flow.
There is nothing to learn or remember — just space to move, breathe, and explore at your own pace.
Suitable for anyone curious to experience T’ai Chi, with no prior experience needed.
(FREE – session will be limited to 40 people – first come first served)

YOGA
6.30pm – 7.30pm The Pavilion  £15 (BOOK HERE

Blooming in May – A Jasmine-Inspired Restorative. An evening of stillness and scent in the Pavilion at Sydney Gardens.
This session invites you to soften, unwind and gently unfold — like petals opening in the last light of spring. A quiet space to breathe and settle into the present moment.
The practice will be slow, grounding and accessible to all levels. I’ll incorporate a subtle jasmine scent to gently complement the setting and season.
Please bring your own yoga mat.

To Slowly Catch the Scent
7.30 -8.45 The Clore room in the Holburne £20 (BOOK HERE)

A guided workshop that invites you to slow down and pay close attention — using your sense of smell.
Explore natural plant scents at an unhurried pace, nosing into subtle olfactory differences and reflecting on the memories, feelings and the inner calm that aroma can bring up.
Blend a personalised botanic scent to take home so you can revisit the places found in this Mindful May’s sensory experience.
