The Shape of Care: Making Care Visible

Discover The Shape of Care, a group exhibition which invites us to pause and consider where care lives in our daily routines and how it shapes our sense of belonging.
Over the past year, our Pathways to Wellbeing community has explored what care looks like — it’s presence and absence, the moments in which it is given or received, and the ways it can be felt, witnessed and made visible through making.
Presented through personal and powerful responses, the exhibition celebrates the small, sustaining gestures that can sometimes be overlooked or undervalued: patient attention, thoughtful exchanges, creative connections.
This exhibition marks the third exhibition of work from our creative community and highlights the Holburne’s belief in the powerful relationship between art, creativity, and personal and social wellbeing. It reflects the museum’s commitment to championing practices in which care is embedded in every interaction — with our visitors, the artists and groups we collaborate with, and the volunteers and staff who support our work.
This exhibition has been created in collaboration with the Gardener’s Lodge Art Group, IMAGE Group, Happy Mondays, artists, facilitators, volunteers and staff from Pathways to Wellbeing.
