On 9 March 1934, Rachmaninov opened his UK tour at the Bath Pavilion. Believed to have been lost to time, the Holbourne is proud to present this lost programme performed on the very piano Rachmaninov used, by Bath Concert Pianist and Kawai Artist Nurry Lee.
Reconstructed using materials from the Sergei Rachmaninov Archive at the Library of Congress in Washington and contemporary reviews. This concert serves as a moment in history proving a significant, archival achievement for both Bath and the Holburne Museum.
Performed by the talented Concert Pianist Nurry Lee, a South Korean British Pianist recognised across the world for her expressive artistry and international acclaim having performed across Europe, the USA, Asia, and West Africa. Recognised as one of Kawai ‘s Official Artists, Nurry has performed multiple times at Carnegie Hall, featured on BBC Radio three, and made her debut in her hometown of Bath to a sold out performance and standing ovation in 2023.
Nurry is excited to make her return to the Holburne Museum and take part in this historic concert.
