Easter holidays – Family fun at the Holburne
The Holburne Museum in Bath is the perfect place for a family day out this Easter. With three exhibitions, free trails and workshops, and the café… there’s so much to discover!
EXHIBITIONS
We have three exciting exhibitions on show. Iconic: Portraiture from Francis Bacon to Andy Warhol presents rarely-seen works by some of the major names of 20th century art, exploring the ways artists used photography as a source and as subject matter. There are lots of recognisable images – from The Beatles to Batman – that will resonate with all ages. Joshua Donker: I have more souls than one examines portraiture as a collaborative exercise, with family photos, fabrics and personal items embedded into the works. Enjoy uncovering the story within each picture! Diedrick Brackens: Woven Stories is his first installation in the UK. Four weavings are displayed in our Ballroom, presenting rich, nuanced visions of African American life and identity.

Our creative activities are suitable for any age unless otherwise specified. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Enjoy a guided exploration of the museum using our special Easter Trail for kids! No need to book, pick up from front desk and get hat hunting.
Fan-tastic Paper Fashion
Tuesday 15 April | 10.30am – 12.30pm | FREE
Fold it, cut it, bunch it, scrunch it! Join us to create outrageous paper outfits inspired by our collection of silk and paper fans, for an activity that has been developed with our Young Creatives Group – Make It New.
EASTER ART CAMPS
Holburne Art Camps provide a fabulously fun day of creativity for children, delivered by experienced artists. Each day is designed to explore new skills, art practices and exciting materials. All our activities are inspired by wonderful objects and stories from the museum collection as well as our exhibitions.

GARDEN CAFÉ
Our light and airy café is open daily from 10am – 4.30pm (11am on Sundays and bank holidays), serving a range of light lunches and sweet treats with plenty of outdoor seating. We’re also situated right next to Sydney Gardens, which has a fantastic playground – perfect for running around after the museum.
