A rare opportunity to see this delicate portrait of Jane Austen by her sister Cassandra, usually only on display at the National Portrait Gallery, London. Jane Austen (1775–1817) is one of the most beloved writers in English literature. A resident of Bath between 1801 and 1806, she lived across the road from the Holburne at 4 Sydney Place from 1801 until 1804. During this time she frequently visited Sydney Gardens where she attended the public breakfasts and evening galas. Also enjoy The Jane Austen Festival from 10 to 19 September 2021, including The Grand Regency Costumed Promenade from the Holburne 11am, Saturday 11 September.
