Explore and unlock new conversations about emotional health and wellbeing using historical objects from the 18th century.

From fans to wig powder find out about the personal grooming routines of Georgian ladies and gentlemen and start conversations about self-care.

A PSHE resource developed by The Holburne Museum in Bath with funding from Art Fund (Respond & Reimagine Grant).

Each Unlocking Conversations Loans Box is suitable for a class of up to 32 pupils of all ages, but is particularly aimed at pupils in secondary education. Each Loans Box contains:-

Loans Box Fees:            

£20.00 – Hire for 1 week (one week minimum)
£25.00 per week – Additional weeks loan time (up to a maximum of 3 additional weeks)
£10.00 per day – Late return fee (per day)

Schools will be invoiced when booking of loan box is confirmed.

Receiving and returning your loans box:

  • The loans box is loaned for a minimum period of 1 week and a maximum period of 4 weeks.
  • Schools/organisations can collect the loans box on a pre-arranged date as agreed.
  • UK wide courier delivery can be arranged in agreement.
  • All loans boxes must be returned on the pre-arranged date and time to avoid incurring further fees.
