19th century drinking glasses

We have a collection of lead glass dating from the early 19^th century, which would have been used for alcohol. Before clean piped water became widely available, beer was seen as being safer than water, with strong beer said to give men strength to work, and weaker ‘small’ beer drunk by women and children.
