In the Frame: Queer Stories on Screen (part of the Queer Bath Film Festival)

What role does cinema play in telling queer stories? As queer narratives gain greater visibility on screen, questions remain about who gets to tell these stories, how cinema shapes their expression, and which voices are still underrepresented. In the Frame brings together established queer filmmakers and industry experts in conversation to reflect on the history and evolution of queer cinema, the craft of filmmaking, and the power of film as a medium for queer narratives.

Talking to Ellie Hendricks, Anna Lucas, Govind Chandran and Sal Creber, the discussion will combine personal insight with practical advice for emerging filmmakers working within the landscape of LGBTQ+ cinema. As part of the inaugural Queer Bath Film Festival, the panel will conclude with an audience Q&A, offering the opportunity to pose questions and gain further insight into the craft, challenges and possibilities of queer filmmaking.
