Holburne Art Camps provide a full day of creative fun for children, delivered by experienced artists. Each day is designed to explore new skills, art practices and exciting materials.

All our activities are inspired by wonderful objects and stories from the museum collection as well as our temporary exhibitions.

Our popular Holiday Art Camps combine the magic of a historic museum setting with all things creativity, art and making! These fabulously fun days are designed to nurture artistic skills, working with beautiful art materials. All camps are thoughtfully planned and led by inspirational, experienced artists, each day with a different theme. No two days are the same!

£49 per day + £2 booking fee

Monday 27th July  – Sculpture Garden

Dive into the world of small sculpture! Across the day create your own mini 3D artworks, then design a beautiful miniature sculpture garden to display them.

Tuesday 28th July – Beads & Blooms

Look closely at one of the jewels in The Hoburne’s collection – the Beaded Basket! Create your own decorative textile hanging, inspired by beautiful flowers and colourful beaded artworks.

Wednesday 29th July – Ahoy Sailor!

Set sail on the high seas! Experience the treasures of the Holburne’s sparkling Schroder gallery, taking inspiration to create your own ship and sea inspired artworks.

Thursday 30th July – Mythical Beasties

Many a mythical beastie can be found in The Holburne’s vibrant collection. Take inspiration from scaley dragons and furry satyrs as you create your own wonderous creatures.  

Monday 3rd August – Dance, Dance!

Explore art that makes you want to move. Enjoy seeing how artists through history have captured dance and movement in different ways. A day of music, dance and art-making!

Tuesday 4th August – Picasso Inspires

A rare and exciting opportunity for young artists to see artworks from world famous artist Pablo Picasso, here in Bath! Enjoy a day of colourful, playful artmaking inspired by a master.

Wednesday 5th August – Printmaker for a day

A chance to see prints made by some of the biggest artists in the world! Have fun experimenting with different printmaking techniques to create your own beautiful artist portfolio.

Thursday 6th August – Old Meets New

Explore how art making has evolved through the ages. Compare and contrast traditional and contemporary styles, techniques, and materials. Use inspiration from both past and present create your own decorative concertina.

Monday 10th August – Japan’s Wonders

Experience the wonderful world of Japanese art. Get inspired for a day of creativity by looking at miniature netsuke, beautiful woodblock prints and Imari ceramics to create your own collection of Japanese artworks.

Tuesday 11th August – Futuristic Art

Robot artists or flying brushes? What will museums and art of the future look like? Create your own futuristic artworks and a mini museum gallery for them to live in.


How to book

  1. Read through our Important Information for Art Camp Parents & Guardians.
  2. Click ‘Buy tickets online’ button, you’ll be transferred to our ticketing site where you can select and purchase your preferred camp dates.
  3. Complete a Consent Form for each place* you have booked. We cannot accept forms completed less than 48 hours before your camp.

*If booking a place for someone else please ensure their guardian also completes a consent form. 


Refund policy

Full refunds (minus a £2 booking fee) are available on request up to 14 days before the day of booked art camp. We do not offer any other refunds including if your child is ill on the day of the art camp. If your child cannot attend, please contact us immediately to inform us or arrange a refund (if you are eligible).

Cancelation policy

We reserve the right to cancel an art camp due to any unforeseen circumstances up to 48 hours prior. In this event any bookings will be refunded in full to the original payment method.
