Welcoming a new Assistant Curator to the Holburne Museum

We are delighted to welcome Ben Sharp to the Holburne team, who joins us this week in the role of Assistant Curator.

A curator and researcher specialising in Modern British Art and contemporary photography, Ben brings a wealth of experience from galleries and museums including Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, and The Charleston Trust in Lewes. He will work closely with our Curatorial team to develop our dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions and oversee our historic collection of over 10,000 artefacts.

The post of Assistant Curator is part-supported by a two-year total grant of £30,000, from Jerwood Foundation.

Ben Sharp said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Holburne as Assistant Curator. I am really looking forward to exploring the collection in new and diverse ways, bringing fresh perspectives to the displays. I cannot wait to engage with Holburne’s diverse visitors and contribute to the museum’s dynamic, thought-provoking exhibitions that connect the past with the present, making art accessible to a wide array of audiences.”

Chris Stephens, Director of the Holburne added: “We’re grateful for the support of Jerwood Foundation towards our Assistant Curator post. Ben brings great insight and experience from a range of venues, and we’re greatly looking forward to working with him.”
