October Half-Term – Family fun at the Holburne

Get ready for a wide range of family activities to fill your half-term! Enjoy FREE admission for families from 26 October to 3 November along with fantastical gallery trails, calm sensory sessions and wonderful workshops for the whole family to enjoy.

What to Expect 

Festival of Light 
Friday 25 October, 5-9pm* | FREE
Kick off your half-term with our celebration of all things light and joyful to mark Diwali, inspired by Chila Kumari Singh Burman’s neon installations. Join us for a FREE evening jam-packed with entertainment for all ages throughout the museum and gardens, including colourful creative workshops, Odissi dance performance, food stalls, children’s activity trail, free admission to the exhibitions, and a fire dancing finale!

Fantastical Tails 
Saturday 26 October – Sunday 3 November | FREE
Take part in our gallery trail inspired by the wonderful creatures and animals in Chila Kumari Singh Burman and Paula Rego’s work (suitable for 6yrs+). Collect your FREE trail from the front desk and get exploring! Up to 2 free adult entries per family. 

Calm Sensory Session – Family morning
Tuesday 29 October, 9-11 am | FREE workshop and museum entry.

Explore the Museum’s first floor galleries from 9-10am, then join for tea, coffee and a relaxed creative activity from 9.30-11am with the Learning team. Calm Sensory Sessions have been created with neurodivergent children, families and adults in mind who may benefit from visiting the museum in a calmer and quieter period.  

Mini Monsters – Free family creative drop-in 
Wednesday 30 October at 10:30 am – 12:30 pm | FREE | Drop–in (no need to book!) 
Unleash your creativity to make fun mini-monster finger puppets at our drop-in Halloween-themed workshop! This activity is designed for families and children aged 5+ and requires children to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
