Free Zoom Lecture with artist Sunil Gupta 7pm Thursday 11 November
Join artist Sunil Gupta in this talk where he discusses creating a new iconography of same sex desire. He notes of his series of pictures, ‘The Pre-Raphaelite group of painters in England were formed to contest the stifling norms of their world and to express a new moral seriousness and sincerity in their works; especially fluidity around sexuality and gender. I’ve chosen to adapt their focus on camp and sensuality and the arrangement of the body and update it all to visualise a modern Indian queer identity.’
