SUMMARY:Matisse Master of Line
DESCRIPTION:One of the undisputed masters of 20th century art\, Henri Matisse (1869–1954) is renowned for the exquisite delicacy of his drawn line as much as for the intense brilliance of his colour. His etchings are remarkable for the fact that they preserve the vivacity and clarity of his drawing\, giving them an immediacy that is especially striking in dialogue with the etchings of Rembrandt.\nThe core of this exhibition is a group of etchings drawn together by the legendary London collector and dealer John Kasmin. The selection offers a concise\, perfect and intense immersion in the achievement of one of the greatest draughtsmen of all time. \nThis display is included in our general admission ticket \n(there are no timed tickets or specific day entry only general admission any day tickets)\n£12.50/£7 (for Art Fund / 18 – 25 Year olds and NUS card Holders)\nFREE entry for Under 18’s and Members
