We are working to refund all ticket buyers via their original method of payment. \n  \nCosmo Fry and friends will talk about his father\, the inventor and entrepreneur\, Jeremy Fry and his scheme to make art accessible to a wider public\, the subject of the exhibition Unlimited: Art for Everyone in the 1960s showing at the Assembly Rooms until 4 June. The founder of the Bath-based engineering firm\, Rotork\, Jeremy Fry was one of the most colourful characters of the 1960s. Renowned as an engineer\, he was also part of a glamorous avant-garde art scene that included such figures as\nDavid Hockney and The Beatles as well the artists with whom he worked under the Unlimited label. Unlimited was a company run from the basement of Fry’s home at Widcombe Manor from 1967 to 1969 which aimed to massproduce works of art to make them available to a much wider audience.\nJoin us to hear about a long-forgotten chapter in Bath’s rich cultural history.

Members are granted free entry. \nYour General Entry ticket includes entry to all exhibitions and the Collection Galleries. \nWinner of the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize\, Michael Simpson\, who lives and works locally\, has been the subject of solo exhibitions at major galleries and museums in London\, Berlin\, and Shanghai\, and his work is in many public and private collections including Tate. \nThis exhibition is the first to focus exclusively on the artist’s work on paper\, exploring Simpson’s approach to drawing as a route to what a painting might be. Made in a range of different media on a variety of materials\, these drawings reveal how Simpson’s ideas emerge and grow over time. His primary concern is with ‘the mechanics of painting’. DESCRIPTION:Bath Assembly Rooms are open from 10am – 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sundays and public holidays\, admission is free. Entrance via Saville Row Courtyard. \n  \nThe first ever retrospective exhibition devoted to Jeremy Fry’s ground-breaking Unlimited. \nIn 1966\, Bath based inventor and entrepreneur Jeremy Fry established Unlimited as an antidote to the exclusivity of the art world by producing unlimited editions of work by some of the leading international artists of the day\, including Takis\, Liliane Lijn\, Mary Martin\, Kenneth Martin\, Lygia Clark\, Michael McKinnon\, Susan Tebby and Mo McDermott. This bold initiative meant these artworks were accessible and affordable to the wider public and\, although short-lived\, the project was a huge success. DESCRIPTION:This event has now sold out \nPlease inform us of any dietary requirements by emailing us at friends@holburne.org. \nCourtesy of the Holburne Museum’s Friends Committee\, we are offering a fantastic opportunity to visit two outstanding examples of Cotswold medieval manor houses. \nWe will spend the morning at Owlpen\, which dates back to 1450 but was carefully repaired and renovated in Arts & Crafts style in 1926 when the house was rescued after nearly a century of dereliction. The interiors include a magnificent Tudor Great Hall of 1523\, an elegant early Georgian parlour and a Great Chamber with unique painted cloth wall-hangings. The gardens range from a charming hillside terraced area with yeo topiary\, old roses and box parterres\, and a walled kitchen garden to an ‘Old English’ garden much admired by Gertrude Jekyll. \nChavenage\, or to legions of Poldark fans ‘Trenwith’ from the TV series\, has its origins in the early 14th Century\, as sections of the current building formed part of an Augustinian monastic community. After the dissolution of the monasteries\, the estate was granted to Thomas Seymour who subsequently married Katherine Parr. The House and estate passed through several owners over subsequent centuries before being acquired by the Lowsley-Williams in 1891. Inside the house itself\, we shall see the Great Hall\, a fine minstrels’ gallery and fireplace\, the impressive Oak Room with fluted panelling and\, on the first floor\, two richly decorated bedrooms. \nTicket cost includes return private coach transport\, entry and private guided tour of both properties\, arrival refreshments at Owlpen and a delicious two-course lunch at Chavenage. Depart from the Holburne Museum at 9am\, returning at 5.30pm.

Then step back in time and recreate yourself in the regal Renaissance age – think gold\, bling and more.  \nEaster Art Camp dates: 3rd\, 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 11th\, 12th\, 13th & 14th April \n9-4 pm each day. For children aged 6-11yrs (please note we cannot support children under the age of 6yrs) \nHolburne Art Camps provide a full day of creative fun for children\, delivered by experienced artists.
