SUMMARY:Exclusive Trip to Pangolin Foundry & Lypiatt Park
DESCRIPTION:Lynn Chadwick made his home in Lypiatt Park\, a Grade I listed building on the edge of Stroud. One of the giants of c.20th sculpture\, Chadwick’s unique and singular work spanned 50 years and he created over a thousand pieces. His presence in the area has left a legacy of fine craftsmanship and reputation for excellence with Stroud becoming home to many established and worldfamous artists. Pangolin Foundry was created in Chalford valley because of Chadwick. It is now one of the country’s leading sculpture foundries\, casting for an international clientele\, still using traditional methods and skills and priding itself on fine craftsmanship. \nThis trip is exclusively for Patrons and Director’s Circle members and places are limited. For more information\, please email development@holburne.org.

SUMMARY:Supporters' Trip to Messums\, Wiltshire
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you join a special event including a Director’s talk and a visit to Messums Gallery\, a local pioneering multi-purpose gallery and arts centre in Wiltshire. \nAs you may be aware\, the Holburne Museum has in its collection a number of items gifted from the Elisabeth Frink Estate and Archive. We will therefore be taking the opportunity of the forthcoming Frink exhibition at Messums Gallery\, ‘Man is an Animal\,’ to have a private view for our Patrons and Exhibition Circle Members. \nTo begin the day\, teas\, coffees & pastries will be served at the Holburne Museum Café followed by a 30 minute talk at 10.00am from Dr Chris Stephens on this exciting gift of Frink works to the Holburne\, with the opportunity to see one or two of the artworks up close. \nWe will follow the talk with an exclusive out of hours visit to Messums Gallery to view the Frink exhibition – the most extensive collection of largescale sculptures by Dame Elisabeth Frink to be shown in this country since her death in 1993. \nAlso on show\, in Messum’s 13th century barn gallery\, will be Frink’s original Blue Door studio from her home at Woolland\, the birthplace of many of these works. Her studio has been reconstructed here as a source of insight and information about her working processes and artistic career. \nTicket price of £55 includes refreshments upon arrival at the Holburne\, the Director’s talk\, private return coach transport to Messums\, entry to Messums Galleries and Sculpture Gardens and a light lunch. We will aim to return to the Holburne Museum carpark by 15.00.
