The ‘WOW FACTOR’ Gift
If you really want to make a statement with a gift we’d suggest The David Hockney SUMO. At £2,250 it’s probably too generous for a ‘secret Santa’ gift or a stocking filler, but containing more than 400 of the artist’s works, it is a must have for art lovers.
These limited edition books are signed by David Hockney and come with a stand, designed by Marc Newsom. The book also contains 13 fold-outs and includes some of Hockney’s most loved paintings, drawing, photo collages and stage designs.
The Eco Gift
Bristol based ‘Priormade’ use sustainable, low-impact and recycled materials to make ‘Geo-vessels’. These unique objects are made from sustainable plywood, and contain a stainless steel insert. They come in a range of bold colours, and look fabulous grouped together or individually. We think they make great vases or even salt & pepper pinch pots.
The Sparkly Gift
We have lots of lovely jewellery and accessories in the Museum Shop, including these silver and resin cufflinks. Made by designer Fern Robinson, whose work is inspired by the playful interaction between children and toys, shards of crayon have been suspended in resin to create a dynamic and colourful effect. The backing of the cufflinks are Hallmarked Silver, and would be a perfect addition to any outfit.
We have a range of Fern’s work in resin, silver and jesmonite, including brooches, necklaces and earrings.
The Gift for the Home
Local ceramicist Sarah Martin’s work is characterised by the ‘volcanic glaze’ she adds to her gently curving vases and vessels. The glaze is colourful and textural, adding a contemporary twist to her porcelain and slip cast vessels. Her Icicle Bottles and Striped Vases would make perfect gifts for lovers of contemporary homeware, or maybe even a treat for yourself!
