Virtuoso Musical Gems
- This event has passed.
Two accomplished musicians bring a sparkling programme of pieces written for the beloved instruments of the 19th century salon: the fortepiano and romantic guitar.
The programme will feature virtuoso and chamber music by Schubert, Rossini, Giuliani and others. Dominika Maszczyńska, in her Holburne debut, is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and the Karol Szymanowski Academy. She is a prize-winning soloist and continuo player who has worked with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Volantes Orchestra with conductor Jos van Immerseel.
Sam Brown, ‘the Eric Clapton of the lute’ is known to Holburne audiences for his imaginative and sensitive style. He was a student at the Royal College of Music with Jakob Lindberg, and the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italia with Lorenzo Micheli. Sam has performed at Vienna’s Konzerthaus and London’s Wigmore Hall. He is a core member of Emma Kirkby’s ensemble Dowland Works and teaches music at the University of Bath.
