The Holburne Future Collective collaborated with artist Jen Hamblin after learning of her lantern installation which was originally created for the Porthleven Prize at Bath Spa University. Each lantern honoured a life saved by the RNLI. These were made to celebrate hope, resilience, and humanity rather than to serve as a memorial. Resonating with this ethos, the Holburne Future Collective has collaborated with Hamblin to reimagine this installation, in partnership with the Bath ReBalance Wellbeing Festival.
Approximately 100 unique handmade lanterns will be laid by you across the front lawn of the Holburne, transforming the museum into a sea of light. Originally made during a collaborative student-led workshop at Bath Spa University’s Locksbrook campus, the lanterns serve as a reminder that light can always be found.
