CANCELLED – Cosmo Fry and friends in conversation
- This event has passed.
Cosmo Fry and friends will talk about his father, the inventor and entrepreneur, Jeremy Fry and his scheme to make art accessible to a wider public, the subject of the exhibition Unlimited: Art for Everyone in the 1960s showing at the Assembly Rooms until 4 June. The founder of the Bath-based engineering firm, Rotork, Jeremy Fry was one of the most colourful characters of the 1960s. Renowned as an engineer, he was also part of a glamorous avant-garde art scene that included such figures as
David Hockney and The Beatles as well the artists with whom he worked under the Unlimited label. Unlimited was a company run from the basement of Fry’s home at Widcombe Manor from 1967 to 1969 which aimed to massproduce works of art to make them available to a much wider audience.
Join us to hear about a long-forgotten chapter in Bath’s rich cultural history.
