Adult Workshop: Mosaicking with Candace Bahouth

Enjoy a tour of Candace’s latest display in the Davidson Gallery and learn how to mosaic a tile using glass and ceramic pieces, inspired by the colourful and exuberant designs of Candace’s work. This workshop will teach you to the basic techniques for mosaicking, to inspire a life-long interest in the craft.
Materials are provided, but you are encouraged to bring any broken ceramics to add a unique personality to your tile.

Candace Bahouth is widely known for her vibrant and distinctive mosaics, tapestries and needlepoint work. A graduate of Fine Art from Syracuse University, Candace now resides in rural Somerset where she has developed her unique facility for woven tapestry/weaving. Since 1988, Candace has concentrated on needlepoint and has published over 130 designs. Her interest in mosaics is grounded in the use of found material from nature as well as fragments of china.
